Meet

Ty Hobbson-Powell

Ty Hobson-Powell (26) is a native Washingtonian and lifelong community advocate. After graduating from high school at 13, he went on to become the youngest student to ever matriculate at Howard University in its history. After gaining his Bachelor's degree at age 15 from the University of Baltimore and his Master’s degree at 17 from Liberty University, Ty began his career in public service with DC’s Dept. of Employment Services availing support to some of the District’s most disadvantaged residents through his work with OYP DC. He also worked for Hillary for America in the 2016 presidential election as a field organizer in Erie, Pennsylvania. Currently, Ty serves as Founder of CCDC, and is a lead organizer with the 51 For 51 D.C. statehood campaign.
