Meet
Kenneth Gyamerah
Kenneth has spent the last seven years working as an educator and youth development specialist in different contexts. Kenneth was a high school teacher in Ghana and served as an educator and youth development specialist in varying roles. In 2019, he co-designed the Youth Action Lab, a one-year co-creation lab for grassroots youth activists in the global South. Before co-designing the Youth Action Lab, Kenneth was a Global Youth Ambassador for Education with Theirworld, Global Partnership for Education and the Royal Commonwealth Society. He was also a youth development consultant and researcher for Plan International Global Headquarters in the UK, Plan International Sweden, and some World Bank-funded projects. Through his work with the global civil society organization: CIVICUS Alliance for Citizen Participation, Kenneth worked to support youth activists’ movements to become more resilient and sustainable in pursuing a more equitable world. Kenneth’s favorite quote is: “It always seems impossible until it is done” - Nelson Mandela.

Session Details
It is only through the direct participation of young people that the issues affecting them can be identified and that effective solutions can be developed. Recognizing the burgeoning youth population globally and the necessity to implement new approaches to solving existing educational problems, this presentation seeks to provide strategies on how youth actors working in the education landscape can work together to co-design interventions that address the current challenges in education.
