Today, on the 28th of January 2024, the final day of our fourth annual Learning Festival, we celebrate our second graduating Weavership cohort! Ten months ago, over 50 activists from more than 15 countries joined this capacity-building fellowship program for youth community organizers who are "weaving" local and global communities in service of education transformation. They explored, during their first five months of learning, the weaving of the self, ecosystems, relationships, and more! During their final five months of the Weavership program, they put their learnings into practice and went on to host Global Action Circles, Glocal Hubs, and their own weaving practices.

We deeply honor the commitment of our two past Weavership cohorts and continue to be inspired by the ways of being and weaving they embody.

We continue to grow and expand our weaving capacity, just as these cohorts do.

Next Weavership Cohort:

Continuing with the celebrations, we are incredibly excited to announce our third Weavership cohort! This year, we have reimagined how this program can serve our community in even deeper ways and have a lot of exciting weaving adventures awaiting. Here is what our Ecosystem Weaver and Gardner, Ila Malhotra Gregory, has to say:

“Weavers-in-becoming will experience a comprehensive understanding of 'Weaving': including Weaving the Self, Weaving Relationships, Weaving Communities, Weaving Ecosystems and Weaving Movements. Weavers will also learn to navigate the complexity of our current systems, understanding how we have come to this moment in time and what the pathways forward (and cracks!) are. They will practice weaving locally or in organizations with support both personally and professionally from the YouthxYouth team. They will do so within their context, engaging local communities with potential for global and systemic impact. They will be supported by experienced adult and youth Weavers, who will share knowledge, resources and best practice. Weavers will be co-creating and forming intergenerational learning communities in order to advance education transformation.”

Additionally Ila shares:

“The programme is for those who feel like their calling in this life is to weave - to be a connector of people, places and projects- they may not have this language or theory but are living this already. It is for those who desire more depth in their life, in their relationships, conversations and being. They care deeply about community, about kinship and transforming our education and learning towards life-affirming futures. They might consider themselves to be 'activists' and are potentially uncertain and confused about the current modes of activism and action found in more 'mainstream' spaces. They desire to nurture and support effective action in ways that do not perpetuate the status quo.”
